Intimate Elvis Elopement | Little White Chapel Pink Cadillac
First of all, I just need to put this out there – photographing another photographer is:
The biggest honor in the whole world.
Intimidating AF
Charlene first got in touch with me a few months before their intended big day. They had been together for a whopping 13 years before Kirk finally popped the question. But hey, when you’ve found your forever, you’ve got nothing but time.
Being a wedding photographer herself, Charlene knew she didn’t want the big fancy traditional wedding. She wanted to have a wedding day that felt like the two of them and allowed them to create memories for themselves, without the pressure of performing for anyone else. So, Vegas it was!
These two packed their bags and headed out west for a traditional Las Vegas wedding, complete with Elvis at the Little White Chapel, on one of the quirkiest days possible – April 1st. But one thing was clear: this was no April Fools joke. The day started at the Venetian where Charlene had been pampered by the ladies of Makeup in the 702. The two of them got ready separately before doing a big reveal between the two of them. Kirk’s Vans were cleaned up and ready to go, and Charlene was ROCKING that sparkly jumpsuit. We piled into a car and headed down to the Little White Chapel to finally make it official.
I just have to say – having worked with so many Elvis impersonators in Las Vegas, the one at Little White is one of my favorites, and I think it’s easy to see why.
These two said their “I dos” and we jetted over to Fremont Street for a few just married photos with all of the amazingly fun murals around downtown. It was easy to see how much fun these two have on a day-to-day basis together, and that really was amplified in Las Vegas! The sun began setting, so we piled back into the car to head out to the desert for some sunset portraits. The thing I most love about Vegas is how we really do have it all. From traditional wedding venues to chapels to neon lights to the desert – you can find everything within an hour’s drive here!
Kirk helped Charlene into a fun and flowy skirt over her jumpsuit, and they had their first dance to a Foo Fighters song out in front of the mountains. We popped some champagne and enjoyed their first of many sunsets as husband and wife! Ultimately, these two wanted moments to remember from the wedding experience. Eloping gave them just that!
