Hualapai Mountain Park Elopement | Wintry Intimate Wedding | Northern Arizona
Ten freakin’ years in the making. Holy crap y’all.
In high school, Dayne saw this cute lady named Kara. Kara was set on not dating this guy, no matter how many times he asked her out. She told him, “If you write it on the moon, I’ll go out with you.”
So soon after that, she found a note in her locker with a picture of a moon on it that said, “I can’t write it on the actual moon, but I can on this.”
And honestly, who could say no to that?
Ten years and two kids later, Kara said yes (on their anniversary) to forever with Dayne.
Kara got in touch with me about 10 months before the big day. The original plan to was to have Pack Up & Go send us to some unknown destination where the two would elope in this surprise location, with only a handful of people there to witness. I don’t need to tell you why their plans changed (ahem, Miss Rona), so we ended up just a short drive away from home outside of Kingman, Arizona. But truly, I’m not sure anything else could have been more magical. Kara looked like a straight up angel and Dayne was a stud. Their closest family and friends watched as they said their vows (which, Kara kept in her shoe as she walked down the aisle haha), and their sons kept watch over the rings until it was time to exchange them. It was the sweetest, most family oriented wedding that I will never forget.
We spent tons of time doing their portraits, which involved traipsing through the snow-covered forest floor – can you say adventure couple??? They NAILED it. Then we headed back to their sweet reception for some extra photos and lots of family fun.
This elopement was beyond fun, and I don’t think anyone stopped smiling the entire time. Watching two people finally exchange rings and vows after 10 years of life together is really like nothing else. Congrats, Kara and Dayne!
