Galena Creek Engagement | Snowy Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest Photos

Nothing like a panini press to bring together two soulmates.

Lexi and Anthony are a textbook Tinder success story. The two met in early 2020 and were instantly hooked on each other. And when your entire relationship is in the middle of a pandemic, you really get to spend a lot of time with each other. It sort of speeds up the entire dating process, ya know? There’s no awkward early stage, you get to just understand each other faster, and when you get to spend all your time together, you figure out pretty quickly if this person is your forever. These two were lucky enough to do exactly that.

So fast forward to the end of the year when Anthony took Lexi on a trip to the beach in Monterey, California. My guy was so nervous he ended up getting pretty teary eyed. He said he kept looking around to see if anyone was around and once the coast was clear (ha, get it?), he got down on one knee and asked Lexi the biggest, most important question of their lives together (besides the question: “do you want tacos?”).

Lexi said she knew it was happening once he started getting emotional. He presented her with a beautiful ring with his (and my!) birthstone of Alexandrite. The joy that overcame the two of them was incomparable, and they soon began planning their destination intimate wedding in Colorado! So what place could be more perfect for their engagement photos than the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest? The mountains, the snow, and the super tall pine trees made for the perfect backdrop. We frolicked all over this beautiful forest with their super hyper pup Joey, who definitely did not care for being left out of the photos! You’d never even know it was 30º because these two (three!) were so snuggly and happy!

This 113-year-old forest is the largest national forest in the lower 48 states – I guess it helps that it’s actually composed of two different forests haha. We picked a super sweet area near Galena Creek, just on the edge of the mountains surrounding Lake Tahoe on the Nevada side. The sun was slow to rise behind the clouds, but it made that golden glow even more special – just keep scrolling to see what I mean!
