Nelson Ghost Town Engagement Photos
As fun as it is to run around the Las Vegas strip, I love getting to be creative as a Las Vegas engagement photographer and explore some hidden gems. For Cassie and Joeri, they wanted to have their session reflect their relationship. I was happy to help them craft the perfect day based on their unique love story.
Let’s go back in time a bit. 5 years ago, Cassie and Joeri met at the Ultra Music Festival. Cassie didn’t really even want to go, but her friend convinced her to show up. After getting ditched by her friend, she ended up spending the rest of the day with Joeri and his friend. They chatted for the rest of the evening, and after the festival they stayed in touch – despite the long distance. Cassie lived in San Francisco, and Joeri lived in the Netherlands. A few months later, they had their first official date in Paris. Talk about romance!
For two years after, they did long distance, and Joeri would come to California any chance he got. Whether it was for an internship, study abroad, or any other opportunity, Joeri was dedicated to seeing Cassie as much as possible. Once COVID hit, they made the decision to elope so that they could end long distance. They got married in a helicopter over the Vegas strip, and ended up moving here a year later! For them, aviation and flying are a huge part of their relationship. Not only does it represent their boundless love for one another, but it also is their favorite activity. Their formal wedding is actually taking place in an aviation museum. Naturally, we had to take some photos with the abandoned planes.
Since they were already married legally, they really wanted to take some Las Vegas engagement photos to have on display at their formal wedding, and also just to capture this moment in time. As now Vegas locals, these photos are extra special, and are the perfect representation of them. It’s shoots like these that make me fall even more in love with being a Las Vegas engagement photographer!
Wanna take me back to this amazing place for some rad photos? Let’s do this.
