Best Las Vegas Photo Session Locations

The coolest thing about Las Vegas (okay…. there are a lot of cool things) is how many options we have when it comes to photo backgrounds. I’ve curated a list of my favorite spots in and around Vegas that are perfect for any kind of photo session. This list is always being updated, and I’m constantly looking for new places to photograph. I also have a few spots in mind that I’d love to photograph in, so if you’re wanting to get on this list, get in touch and let’s do this thing!

Locations marked with an asterisk (*) require an adventure fee or permit.

Downtown Las Vegas / Arts District

Ahhh, a classic. Old Vegas is a favorite because of all of the wild murals around the area. Day or night, these fun walls look incredible in your background, and there’s so much versatility that you really can’t go wrong with picking this as your location. Plus, with all the colors, your outfits will always go really well in the area. And as an added bonus, this area is right next to another favorite, which is….

Fremont Street

This area pairs perfectly with Downtown Las Vegas, and we can often do both areas in one session! This area is best after dark when all of the lights come up to illuminate you and really give you that old Vegas vibe. Since Fremont Street was the original “strip,” the casinos are much closer together, making it so much brighter. Once they installed the overhead screen, it became a photographer’s paradise.

The Strip

Okay, duh, the Strip hahah. I love certain parts of the Strip because they feel so much more lit up, so it’s important to know which casinos are more your style. For example, we can go classy and bougie in front of the Bellagio, or more fun and carefree in front of the Flamingo. If you have your ceremony on the Strip, even better, as your casino will let you photograph inside, which can lead to even more exciting photos.

Dry Lakebed

Once we start to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, the whole landscape flattens out a bit and gives you that incredible cracked earth desert look with mountains surrounding you in the background. The dry lakebed was one of the first excursions I took in Vegas, so that’s probably why it’s a favorite. Once the sun goes behind the mountains, pretty blue light washes over the whole lakebed, so you really can get two different vibes in this one location!

Seven Magic Mountains

What was meant to be an art piece only up for a few months has now become a staple in Las Vegas for years. This crazy colorful group of rocks is perfect for those wanting bright colors while still getting that natural look, since you can just turn around the other way and get a clean desert backdrop with a few mountains in the distance. And as a bonus, there’s also another dry lakebed just around the corner from this beautiful installation!

Clark County Wetlands Park*

I’m biased because I live so close to this park, but it’s such a nice change of scenery from the lights or the desert. I have two key spots here – one is the main area that provides all that lush greenery. The other is a secret spot just down the street that puts a ton of beautiful mountains in your backdrop. Both areas have paved parking lots, so no hiking boots required!

Your Favorite Fast Food Place

From In-n-Out to Taco Bell to Del Taco to Raising Canes, Las Vegas has it all! Ever dream of having photos done with your favorite person and your favorite fast food restaurant? Let’s do it! Day or night, I’m here for it. And yes, we will absolutely make time to actually EAT what we order. :)

The Neon Museum*

A Las Vegas classic! The Neon Boneyard in downtown Las Vegas is home to some of the original neon that lit up the city in decades past, and now it’s available for you to use in your engagement, elopement, and wedding photos! It does cost a pretty penny, but we only need about 15 minutes in the North Gallery to get all of the amazing photos!

Tivoli Village*

This little spot is such a treasure, and you’d never even know it was a shopping center. This Italian-inspired area is on the western side of Las Vegas, so you get some lovely sunsets, and the entire area becomes magical once it lights up after dark. If your photo session is long enough, we can even head over to Red Rock, too!

Red Rock*

Red Rock State Park is, in a word, magnificent. And you really don’t have to do much hiking to get to some beautiful spots. They do require a permit, and they’re very hard to get a hold of, so I usually send my couples to Elopement Las Vegas, as Emily over there can get permits very easily!

Mount Charleston*

One step into Mount Charleston and you feel like you’re suddenly in Colorado. It’s wild, but it does not look like this lush green mountain belongs in the middle of the desert! There’s also snow on the peak for a good 4-6 months out of the year, so wintry sessions up here are absolutely possible. And the trees during fall? Perfection. *chefs kiss*

Sand Dunes*

Only pick this location if you’re okay with being in the car with me for two hours each way. Yep! This spot is about 2 hours away from Las Vegas, but dang is it worth it. I’ll bring plenty of tunes and snacks, and we’ll off-road part of the way there! But this spot is definitely not one to miss. The best part is that not a ton of people really know about it, so your photos will be super different from everyone else’s!

Your Own Home!

If you’re a local, you know that living in Vegas is unlike any other city. There’s truly nowhere else that feels like a playground as much as Vegas does. Personally, having lived all over and settling in Vegas means that our home is full of eclectic stuff from all of our years in different parts of the world, which is a perfect representation of us. I bet your home is the exact same way.
